Dear friends of heritage, As promised, and as we will do regularly, we are writing to give you news of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris. Thanks to your gift, the rescue efforts that began on the night of the fire and are ongoing are being funded.

Your gift is funding urgent rescue and security work. So that your gift could be used for immediate work, on 29 July a financial agreement was signed between ourselves and the Ministry of Culture. This is important, because it will allow us to follow the progress of the various phases of the work while ensuring that your intentions are respected. The work will be carried out in several phases: - consolidation of the structure and making it safe - analysis by architects - reconstruction Signing of the framework document by Franck Riester, Minister of Culture, and Guillaume Poitrinal, President of the Fondation du patrimoine. On this basis, we made an initial payment of €44.9 million to the Ministry of Culture, thanks not least to gifts from individuals and associations.

Your gift is helping to save Notre-Dame ! You are currently financing the entire consolidation phase, as well as ownership and management of the project. The building must be prevented from collapse and from further deterioration, and prepared for reconstruction work. Works are continuing this summer and autumn in order to:

Once these actions have been carried out, the nature of the various types of damage to the cathedral will be analyzed, and architects’ studies will determine the nature of the restoration.

What happens next ?

The work is far from over. Gifts from corporate sponsors are being gathered, to fund the next phases of the work. These phases will be funded as the work progresses. All pledges and gifts will be well used to repair Notre-Dame.
